When we hear the word robot, we think of a robot like the one shown in the image, or a series of robotic arms on a production line, always helping the human being to complete tasks with greater precision and / or speed.
The automation of business processes is here to stay, whether it is a process of technological information, finance, sales or any other area. We can see that these business processes are becoming increasingly automated through software.

The definition of RPA according to the Institute for Robotic Process Automation and Artificial Intelligence (IRPAAI) is the following: It is the technology that allows you to configure a software or “robot” to control and interpret existing applications and thus being able to process a transaction, manipulate data, trigger responses and communicate with other digital systems.

From BPA: Business Process Automation to RPA.
BPA is the method or forms used to automate recurring business processes using different software and application integrations.

Traditionally, business processes were automated using programming languages, APIs and techniques for system integration. It was a requirement that developers have an extremely detailed understanding of the system.


Because this let’s say traditional business process automation involves integrating applications with databases or at the infrastructure level, an implementation can take several months to complete.
For a long time, traditional automations were not good at moving large amounts of data at really fast speeds, in contrast to technological advances in the past decade, RPA has replaced many of the traditional automation techniques and now the new approach to automate business processes.
RPA is a quick fix, deployments take a couple of weeks, and most code doesn’t have to be written.


RPA is a simple and powerful automation technique that gives us many tools to create our own robots also known simply as bots.

Various research in the industry shows that there is a high demand for professionals who have RPA knowledge and skills. The Upwork freelance website in its 2019 index revealed that this was one of the most searched and fastest growing jobs.


Linkedin, in its 2020 report, Emerging Jobs Report, placed robotic engineering second in the list of the 15 most requested emerging jobs in the United States of America with an average annual growth of 40%, only below the specialist in artificial intelligence.


Technologies take time to permeate and more in countries with emerging economies, but rest assured that we will see an explosion of this type of project in Latin America.
